The point of blogging

What do you blog for? Is it because you're "Itching to get stiching?" Or maybe you want to "Stamp with Elizabeth?" While browsing through other peoples blogs with titles no more original than Weaving Spirit, Bumpy Beads, and Baking at Home... other than the one blog titled "Kelly Loves Whales"; this blog really had no purpose whatsoever, which was refreshing :) It hit me though, why are all of these thousands of people blogging everyday and rambling aimlessly on subjects such as sewing? Yeah, sewing's fun I'm sure, maybe not my thing... but definitely a good hobby. What I'm curious about however, is why people aren't using that free time to do whatever it is that they love? In this case... sewing.

What I'm saying is what in the world motivates us as humans to set aside time to talk about ourselves? Are we all arrogant, cocky, self-centered jerks? Or is there something else? If this were the case I would have absolutely no hope for our world, nor our future as a society.

However, I do not believe that is the case. Humans have a need for a sense of community, as well as fellowship with people similar to themselves. Social networking today has become some what of a mandatory practice. People rely far to heavily on the internet. Did you know they actually have counselors for people who own computers that have crashed and they lost all their data. Some people litterally go into depression after losing their computers and social networking, that is how bad our society is.
All these crafty blogs also made me feel hobbiless... I believe I was just pressured by a website. Hmm... Anyways, this was just my two cents on humans, our culture, and sewing. Short, sweet and to the point.
In order to make myself feel like I have a hobbie of any sort, Im going to be posting pictures each week on friday to keep you all up dated without spending my whole life writing on this thing :) I shall call it Fantastic Photo Friday :)



By the way, this entire Blog Post is hypocritical and true, yet I do wish I could sew well.

Day Three in Malibu

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010
Third day in Malibu! We had the caribay... if I spelled that even kinda right. Me and the girls in my cabin are getting super close. We went kayaking after the caribay and tipped all the boats over, I paddled standing up :) This place brings back some awesome memories from last year. The water olympics were today... I lost all my events... lame-o. Once again, I miss Brocky. I keep thinking about the day before I left for Malibu, he's so sweet, he cried when I left. I think it's sweet how sensitive he is. I wanted to cry but I had to be his rock ;) I miss him a lot, I think this will be really good for our relationship. Whenever we're away from each other I appreciate our time together so much more... I feel like that's bad because I should appreciate all about him all the time.. and I so do, but I don't realize how much I need him until he's gone. Anyways, I'll stop moping now and try to enjoy this amazing ismas full of fun and activities :) haha. I've been taking picture of the moon every night to show Brock that I've been watching it with him. Right now me, Mariel, and allisen are at the coffee shope all journaling while waiting for dinner. I'm starving right now.. Hm.. anyways, dinner's starting, ima go get me some grub :)

Day Two in Malibu

Alright guys, since it's been a while since my last blog we have much to catch up on! Given that it has been a long time, I hope you don't expect me to lay out my whole life story from the last month or so in one blog. Honestly, I believe you would enjoy that much less than myself due to the fact you'd bore to death. So, on that note, let's begin with Malibu. I was in Canada on this lovely ismas called Malibu club for ten days. It was WAY out of cell service and we had no computers... so, no blogs, sadly. Instead, to catch you all up on where my life and heart is I'm going to transfer my journal entries to blog form. :)

It's the second day in Malibu and everything's gorgeous like I remember. There's something about this place that's so inspiring, as a person and artistically. I feel so at peace here. So I've decided to try and be the person I seem to be. I want to be the nice, honest, wholesom person I act like; and I wish I didn't have all the history and secrets that I do. I wish I wouldn't have made the mistakes I've made, but then again those mistakes have made me who I am. I want to be better though.

I miss Brock. It's been two days and I'm already becoming reflective. I keep thinking about how close we are, how we're best friends but madly deeply crazy in love with eachother at the same time. This is amazing here, but I wish I could share the experience with him.

Today was fun, we had the Volleyball tournament. I'm not sure what we were supposed to be, cheerleaders?... With green bows? Anyways, club will be starting soon. Just wanted to check in and express where life is taking me currently. I'm in my happy place.
